Felton Road’s much re-named ‘standard’ bottling is a torch bearer for what Central Otago can achieve - put simply it is one of the very finest estate Pinot Noirs produced anywhere in the New World and one of our bestsellers in every vintage. Concentrated, savoury fruit is underscored with a very ‘burgundian’ mouthfeel. Unfined, unfiltered, with just under a year in French oak.

The ensuing 2007 Pinot Noir has a very elegant, understated nose that takes time to peek its head over the horizon. At first, simple strawberry and dark cherry fruit but there is a subtle touch of undergrowth and charcoal. Good definition. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant, very harmonious with prudent, well integrated oak.
